Student Writing Aids
In my English classes we're all about the process and making sure we have proper formatting down. Whether you're writing for academic purposes, or for your future careers, you will need a process to help you stay organized and on task. All writing in my classes will begin with a "Pre-Write" in which we brainstorm our ideas and then lead into an outline.

Brainstorming is a really simple process. You can either start with a list or put your subject in the middle, followed by all the thoughts you can think of that pertain to that subject. From there you can pick out the most important pieces and then begin building an outline.
Remember, outlines are a must in our class! If you have trouble with the format you can download this Essay Outline Template as a model or to help you create the best outline possible! Once your outline is done you'll be on your way to an essay that is ORGANIZED and has SUPPORTING DETAILS.
