This year, areas of focus within our studies will be: reflecting, making goals, charting our growth, and practicing gratitude for all we've learned within BCPS and life experiences.
This is the year we will make changes, challenge ourselves, and focus on the future.

As an educator, I have five words that are my mantra and the keys to success in the classroom. They are: positive, encouraging, engaging, nurturing, and insightful. These five words serve as my guide in creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning. My philosophy for teaching is that each child is unique and learns in a different way. One of my jobs as a teacher is to help your child discover his or her individuality and work alongside with them to maximize it. It is my belief that students are most successful when they are able to learn within a positive environment and are encouraged to practice a variety of different learning styles and
This year, you should expect your child to engage in many reading and writing activities, practicing the fundamentals of English, engaging in small and large group discussions and activities, and using varying forms of creativity and technology within the classroom. I have a fun year of lesson plans to keep the students focused, on task, and working with technology in such a way that will help them further their academic careers. I believe it’s important to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed for a life beyond high school so they can thrive and spread their wings. I look forward to working with your child and encourage you to be an active participant in our classroom activities. I also encourage you to call me should you have any questions or concerns regarding your child and our classroom. The best way to contact me is through email at: [email protected] or by my classroom phone. I frequently check both places throughout the day and can get back to you in a timely manner. In addition to these methods, I encourage you to use PowerSchool. Here you will have access to student grades and attendance reports. I am looking forward to a fun–filled and educational year!
